Managing People & Effective Delegation PDF Print E-mail

Managers have always been offered new and different ways to manage, but none of them take into account the fact that teams and circumstances vary. The ability to manage the modern day team with a proactive approach and being able to respond appropriately to different situations is vital for the senior manager.

Objectives

Most leadership styles fall into the systematic or intuitive categories, but they often fail to adapt to maturity of the people and the complexity of the circumstances. This programme adds to situational leadership and uses a repertoire of techniques with the added perspective of the empathetic instinct.  It produces the ability to tackle a situation in a creative way rather than relying on what has always been done in the past.

A range of tools is given for senior managers to be able to guide their team members and become aware of their own skills as well as plan and organise their time in a better more effective way.

At the end of the programme participants will be able to:

  • Understand roles and responsibilities of management
  • Know what motivates people and how to use that knowledge
  • Be able to gain interest and commitment to a goal
  • Prioritise decision making and communicate them appropriately
  • Know how to communicate effectively in different situations
  • Support under performers in an empathetic manner
  • Develop behaviour through reinforcement
  • Be assertive in resolving any conflicts
