Often teams are constructed on an ad hoc basis without any consideration given to their composition or purpose. Once established and in operation the management of a team is often unplanned and not sympathetic to the team’s purpose. The construction of teams, with strategic objectives in mind, brings together the best complimentary resources of the organisation as a powerful tool for solving product and corporate problems.

The Aims of this Seminar

This programme is designed to show how to create correctly balanced and effective teams with the appropriate structures to stimulate the best response from its participants. It will highlight the importance of leadership styles in motivating teams and focus on the importance of delegation. Team performance values will be discussed and methods of evaluation proposed.

  • Setting realistic, measurable goals, which can be the basis of team assignments.
  • Developing the composition of teams, with complimentary roles, norms and factors to maintain cohesion.
  • Evaluating leadership styles and translating them into the motivators for team dynamism.
  • The methods and attitudes of delegation with ways to increase performance.
  • Resolving conflict in a positive fashion to produce an improving involvement.
  • Tools and techniques for assessing team actions and rate of performance.
  • Motivation and development methods for continuing levels of achievement.
  • The application of team groupings to different purposes.

Training Methods

All training will be based on establishing individual’s needs and every element will be put in the context of specific assignments. Formal input and role-play will allow participants to demonstrate their understanding of all the principles involved.

Duration and Attendees

A two-day course with an ideal maximum number of twelve people.
