Today a team leader requires more than knowledge of the product or service and how to deliver it; they need to be able to work within an integrated organisational structure, whilst seeking to develop individualism and growth.
The ‘ACE’ Programme
Standing for Aligned, Creative and Exploring, the ‘ACE’ programme seeks to give young team leaders the understanding to develop supportive relationships and personal investment that will deliver teams that put all of their energy into their work.
Aligned leadership gives clear values to which every one is committed, such teams are usually well organised and are able to get the best out of each different type of person in the team. They are also strongly supportive, not only within there own team, but of all other parts of the organisation, for example information is shared and not hoarded – so trust and faith in colleagues is developed.
New solutions are always being sought and a commitment to creativity with a ‘Yes’ culture that greets new ideas positively will enable a team to continually test the limits of what is possible. In such teams disagreements are seen as a powerful tool for achieving high level results. People build creatively on what is said rather than be judgmental or destructive, people listen to build rather than win. When teams take on creativity the also need to develop intuition, which is as important as knowledge and analysis, to enable a natural flair to allow the creative process to flow.
The third element in the ACE programme is ‘exploring’, which means the team leaders are always encouraging their people to go beyond their own boundaries to discover what impact they can make in new areas. Such teams and team leaders really want to make a difference in the world; they will always go that extra mile and are looking for ways to deliver even better customer value. Exploring teams do not merely plan well they keep evaluating their progress and continually adjusting their performance to the changing situation and environment.
The underlying principle of the programme is that all sorts of questioning are good and that improvement can only be made by continually asking how things can be done better. The programme seeks to develop the unselfish state of mind that can cope with and initiate that process of ongoing challenge.
At the end of the programme participants will:
- Understand the importance of communicating clear values and goals
- Know the benefit of developing sharing, supportive relationships
- Help individuals become responsible their own growth
- Seek to discover new ways of doing things from constructive disagreement
- Realise the benefits of failing and know how to build on those failures
- Always seeking to push for greater success through a better use of energy
- Continually assessing the progress of activities and be eager to change them as required

- Commitment to measured objectives at all levels
- Sharing information and supporting their own team members and other teams
- Being able to connect with everyone for greater personal performance

- Using the whole person to deliver a relaxed and intuitive approach to growth
- Challenging processes and procedures for improved performance
- Reviewing methods of performance in an objective way for ongoing improvements

The programme allows participants to develop their own analytical tools for carrying out this new thinking in the workplace and ensuring that the process is easily maintained and applied.
